Bhutan Media Foundation would like to announce the vacancy for the post of Executive Director.

Applications are invited from interested Bhutanese nationals who have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and work experience of more than ten years. She/he should be capable of fund mobilization in the national and international arena, have sound management capability including fiscal management.

The selected candidate shall be paid a monthly basic salary of Nu.70, 000/- per month (negotiable) and shall be appointed for an initial period of three years, to be renewed based on performance.

Bhutan Media Foundation would like to announce the vacancy for the post of Executive Director.

Selected candidate shall be paid a monthly basic salary of Nu.60, 000/- per month. The appointment of Executive Director shall be for the period of three years and may be renewed based on performance. She/he should possess a good understanding of media, creative ideas for the future growth of media and sound management capability including fiscal management. Applications are invited from interested Bhutanese nationals who have minimum of a bachelor’s degree and has work experience of more than ten years. Candidates with media background shall be preferred.

TERMS OF REFERENCES

1. 1.       The Executive Director shall be the head of the Foundation’s Secretariat and as such shall exercise general supervision of all operations and personnel of the Foundation.

1. The Executive Director shall have the authority to appoint staff members and assign duties and responsibilities under the overall guidance of the Board.

1. The Executive Director shall report to the Board of Directors.

1. The Executive Director may sign with any other designated officer authorized by the Board, if co-signatures or attestation is required for any deeds, mortgages, bonds or other instruments which the Board has authorized to be executed, except in cases where the signing of the execution thereof is expressly delegated.

1. If the Executive Director is unable to act or is absent or cannot be reached, an Officiating Director designated by the Executive Director shall perform the duties of the Executive Director.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

A candidate shall:

1. Be a Bhutanese citizen;
2. Have a minimum of Bachelor’s Degree of at least three years duration from an Institute recognized by the Government.

Bhutan Media Foundation is pleased to announce the following trainings for Bhutanese media for the month of October and November, 2012. Since it is our intention of cover all media professionals from varied background, you will find below for various targeted trainings that has been custom designed to meet the needs of diverse media professionals.

The six trainers who will be conducting 10 trainings spread over the period of two months have been very carefully selected and are all distinguished experts with wide experience in respective field that they will cover at the trainings.

BMF has invested substantial amount of effort and financial resources in the trainings mentioned below with the hope and intention of being able to support media development in the country, as commanded in the Royal Charter. We would greatly appreciate if the MDs and CEOS could kindly render your kind cooperation by nominating suitable candidates for the trainings. Furthermore, we would like to request the participation of all MDs/CEOs in training on 1) Strategies for Survival and Growth 2) Media Ethics where we will formulate respective Business Strategy Plans and Media Ethics. Further, we would like to request participation of CEOs/MDs/Managers of Radio Stations for training on Radio Station Management.

BMF TRAINING FOR OCT AND NOV 2012 – 9 Oct2012

Please find attached herewith brief information on different trainings along with summary of the course/training, dates, target participants and profile of trainers.

BHUTAN MEDIA FOUNDATION

Bhutan Media Foundation, would like to invite Expression of Interest (EOI) from the interested and eligible National/Indian Training Institute for conducting various training to the Bhutanese media professionals during the period October-December, 2012.

The Expression of Interest should include valid license/registration certificate issued by the Department of Occupational Standard, MoLHR (for National institute), description of relevant past experiences, company profile, work details(if any),  CV/Resume of the key trainers and other relevant documents to prove the firm’s capability. The shortlisted firm based on the above requirements shall be invited to submit technical and financial proposal.

New Delhi, India: November 16-17, 2012

Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) is organising its annual two-day briefing for South Asian journalists in November, just before the deliberations begin in Doha. The briefing is expected to bring to the table the latest in negotiating stances, politics, science and impacts of climate change.

Journalists from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Myanmar and Sri Lanka, interested in evaluating, investigating and interpreting the climate debate, are encouraged to apply for the workshop.

Participation procedure

• Participation at the Workshop is open only to active journalists from the countries specified above.
• There are only 70 seats in the Workshop. Interested journalists can apply through e-mail or fax on the format provided below to the undersigned.
• There is no participation / registration fee. CSE offers to support the travel and accommodation of some of the selected participants. But to avail of this sponsorship opportunity, interested journalists must apply immediately
• Selection of the participants will be done by CSE. The cut-off date for receiving applications is September 15, 2012.
