YUMRA Summer Engagement 2026
July 12th, 2026
The YUMRA Summer Engagement 2026 came to a vibrant close on July 11, 2026, marking three days of learning, unlearning, and reconnecting at the Bhutan Media Foundation. The programme brought together 40 passionate young participants for an immersive journey into media literacy and digital citizenship.
Over two intensive days, participants:
– Deconstructed digital content through interactive sessions.
– Explored the power of peer‑to‑peer learning in the Digital Peer Workshop.
– Engaged in hands‑on activities to strengthen critical thinking and responsible online behaviour.
– Reinforced their role as informed and ethical digital citizens.
– Launched the Scroll for Change Challenge, transforming ideas into impactful short Reels on media‑related topics. The winning entry was celebrated with a prize and certificates.
YUMRA, the youth initiative of BMF, continues to empower young people aged 13–24 to become active contributors to Bhutan’s digital and democratic future. This engagement reaffirmed that when youth are equipped with the right skills, they do not merely consume media—they shape it responsibly and ethically.
The closing day also carried special significance, as July 11 was marked as YUMRA’s Foundation Day. Founding members and BMF officials celebrated the milestone with a cake‑cutting ceremony, symbolising the growth of a community that now counts over 100 registered members.
A heartfelt thank you goes to all participants and the Core Members of YUMRA, whose dedication and energy made this event a resounding success. Together, we are building a generation that thinks critically, clicks wisely, and leads with integrity.
Here’s to more conversations, more learning, and more impact…
