We were pleased to welcome Mr. Narayan Adhikari, CEO and Country Director of Accountability Lab Nepal, and Ms. Preekshya Bimali, Manager – Program and Learning, Accountability Lab Nepal, to BMF today as part of the DDI South Asia Monitoring Team’s Bhutan Country Visit. The team was accompanied by Dasho Sangay Khandu.

During the visit, BMF presented the achievements and impact of the project “Strengthening Social Media Literacy among Youth Leaders,” funded by Accountability Lab and DDI South Asia and awarded by CIVICUS. Implemented from July to September 2026, the project trained 120 youth leaders across Paro, Gelephu, Phuentsholing, and Bajo. Through community-level outreach grants awarded to each participating community, the project further reached more than 1,000 young people.

The visit provided a valuable opportunity for us to share the project’s achievements, experiences, and challenges, as well as reflect on lessons learned during its implementation.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Accountability Lab, DDI South Asia, and CIVICUS for their support in making this initiative possible, and to our partners—including Department of Education Programmes, MOESD, Paro Youth Centre, Paro College of Education, Bjena Primary School, Phuentsholing Rigsar Higher Secondary School, Gelephu Youth Center, BAJO Youth Center, Phuentsholing Youth Friendly Integrated Service Center—for their valuable collaboration and support.

We are proud of what we have achieved through this initiative and look forward to building on these partnerships and creating further opportunities to strengthen media and social media literacy among Bhutanese youth.
