Celebrating 40 Years of EU–Bhutan Partnership and Friendship

The Bhutan Media Foundation had the honour of attending the Reception commemorating the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the European Union (EU), the Kingdom of Denmark, and the Kingdom of the Netherlands with the Royal Government of Bhutan, and on the occasion of the visit of the Hon’ble Ambassadors of the Member States of the EU yesterday in Thimphu.
The EU has been Bhutan’s one of the largest development partners, extending its support since the early 1980s. The Bhutan Media Foundation is one of the proud recipients of the EU’s assistance and is currently implementing the project “CSOs as Actors in Governance and Development” funded by the EU in India and supported by Helvetas Bhutan.
We remain deeply grateful to the EU for its steadfast friendship and significant support toward Bhutan’s development journey, particularly its contribution to this Foundation, the media sector, and civil society in Bhutan through our ongoing project.
