Media Literacy for Dragon Girls
November 10th, 2025
The Bhutan Media Foundation (BMF) was delighted to be part of Media Literacy Program for the Womenโs National Team, organized by Bhutan Football Federation (BFF) on 8โ9 November 2025 at the BFF Headquarters in Bebena, Thimphu.
The program empowered our Dragon Girls with essential skills to navigate media responsibly, protect their digital identity, and use media platforms for positive visibility and advocacy.
During the two-day workshop, BMF led interactive sessions on the impact of media, media literacy skills, understanding social media, navigating emerging online challenges, and media policies and legislations through engaging, hands-on activities.
The program also featured insightful sessions by Mr. Tenzin Gyeltshen (Bhutan InfoComm and Media Authority- BICMA), Mrs. Namgay Zam, Mr. Sherub Dorji, Mr. Phub Dorji (Nyingnor Data), and Mr. Chencho Gyeltshen. They shared valuable lessons on creating responsible and strategic social media content, personal branding, and digital conduct. Their inspiring reflections encouraged the players to stay authentic, resilient, and groundedโboth on and off the field.
BMF extends its heartfelt appreciation to the Bhutan Football Federation for this meaningful collaboration, and to all facilitators and participants for their enthusiasm and commitment to promoting media literacy and empowerment.
Together, we continue to nurture a generation that is informed, responsible, and media-smart!
