UNESCO Youth Hackathon 2026 – Call for Participation Now Open!

The UNESCO Media and Information Literacy (MIL) Unit has announced the Youth Hackathon 2026, under the theme: “Play Your Part: Youth Design the Future of Media and Information Literacy.”
This global initiative invites young people aged 18–30 to collaborate, innovate, and design practical solutions that strengthen Media and Information Literacy in their communities.
Following the record‑breaking 2025 edition, with more than 1,200 teams from 138 countries, the 2026 Hackathon promises to bring together an even more diverse and dynamic community of youth innovators.
The winning teams will be invited by UNESCO to participate in the Voices European Festival of Journalism and Media Freedom in Thessaloniki, Greece, from 26–28 November 2026, where they will have the opportunity to showcase their projects and engage with other stakeholders.
